Delhi – Amritsar – Dalhousie – Dharamshala – Bir – Shimla – Chandigarh
Type of Trip: Road Trip | Start City: Delhi | End City: Delhi
Himachal Pradesh is a region of natural beauty, rising from hilly slopes dotted with hill stations, through pine forests to the Himalayan foothills and tea gardens of the northwest. Tibetan Buddhist culture is very much evident here, as the area has been settled by many Tibetan communities in exile over the past 40 + years. A highlight of this journey is 2 days in Dharamsala, the Dalia Lama's home in exile, where we will visit the Dalai Lama's temple and the Tibet Library and Museum. The journey back fro the Himalayan foothills includes Shimla, formerly the British winter capital, where the British influence is still very much evident in the city's unique design and architecture. Then on to Chandigarh, with its famed Rock Garden and Rose Garden, before a final day in Delhi.
