The Classical India tour combines the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Jaipur, Agra) with a special visit to Khajuraho and the ancient city of Varanasi. This journey allows visitors to experience the wondrous diversity and heritage of northern India. Each city offers something special and unique. Delhi is a combination of old and new, including historical monuments, forts, the arts, multi-ethnic cuisine, and shopping for both modern and traditional Indian goods;Jaipur introduces visitors to the glorious culture and history of the royal state of Rajasthan; and Agra showcases the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal. After the Golden Triangle, we will travel to Khajuraho, an UNESCO World Heritage site that is comprised of a group of Hindu temples and Jain temples, famous for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures. Then to Varanasi, an ancient city of great spiritual significance situated on the holy Ganges River. One cannot help but be moved by spending a couple of days in Varanasi, visiting temples and experiencing the nightly Hindu ritual at the banks of the Ganges River in the evening, and a boat ride along the river at sunrise.We will spend the final day in Delhi to share our experiences and enjoy a special farewell dinner.
